Buckley Jubilee 2020

On Tuesday (14th July) it will be Buckley Jubilee Day!
The Buckley Jubilee is a very important tradition to the people of Buckley and surrounding areas. This year it would have been the 164th anniversary of the Jubilee, it has never been cancelled even during the time of the two world wars. It is so important that we continue to celebrate this years Jubilee although we can't all be together.
If you aren't sure of what the Buckley Jubilee is all about, here is a little bit more information about its history -

It is so important to keep this wonderful tradition going. I have put together some ideas below to help you celebrate at home.
We would love to see you celebrating so please upload your pictures to Twitter so we can share them (don't forget to tag us @MynyddIsa and use the hashtag #BuckleyJubilee2020 )
If you are not able to celebrate on Tuesday you may want to this weekend or anytime during next week 😁

Here are some ideas -
🎉Help to make a Jubilee tea - this usually consists of sandwiches, sausage rolls, crisps, strawberries and cream, bara brith etc. It is just like a party tea because it is time to celebrate!

🎉Make a Welsh flag. You can either print and colour from the link below or draw your own.

🎉Make Welsh flag bunting. Here are some you can print, but it would be lovely to draw your own too.

🎉A Bara Brith recipe, to enjoy at your Jubilee tea.

🎉Go on your own Jubilee walk or you could even walk the route. Some churches in Buckley are displaying photos of past Jubilee's on their gates, you could walk past some of these on your walk.

🎉Watch a video of a past jubilee. If you look carefully you may see someone you know or even yourself! -

🎉We may not be able to go to the fair this year but you could play some fairground games in your back garden or in your house depending on the weather! Swipe across above to see some ideas of fairground games.

We can't wait to see your photos!
Happy Jubilee Day! 🥳
