Happy Hedgehogs Childcare

Our aim at Happy Hedgehogs Childcare is to provide a safe, stimulating environment for children to relax, work and play during their care.

We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and inspected by CIW (Care Inspectorate Wales). Our staff deliver high quality childcare and play experiences; there are resources and equipment both inside and outside to keep the children stimulated whilst in our care. We provide care for children aged 3 years old to 11 years old.

Happy Hedgehogs Childcare is based in a classroom on the ground floor, this is the collection and drop off point for all children attending Happy Hedgehogs Childcare.

A wide variety of activities are offered. Happy Hedgehogs Childcare has a wide range of age appropriate equipment to allow for a variety of play experiences such as sporting/physical activity equipment, arts and crafts, construction toys, pretend play toys, board games, electronic equipment and books.

Activities will be planned weekly by Childcare workers & Playworkers, whilst still offering opportunities for free play. Children will be encouraged to participate in the planning and evaluation of activities and ideas for equipment when it is being purchased.

Bookings must be made in advance to ensure we have the correct staffing levels and to ensure we do not exceed the number of children we are registered for with CIW. Before a child can attends a Child Registration form must be completed. Please email Mrs C Taylor – HappyHedgehogs5@hwbcymru.net

Opening Times

Before School (Breakfast Included)

Opens between 8:00 am and 8.50 am every day during school term-time. Please drop off child/children before 8.30am.

Wraparound Provision

Opens between :

Session 1. 9.00am – 12.45pm.

Session 2. 11.30am – 3.00pm

(Depending on the child’s school nursery session).

After School

Please collect your child/children after 3.45pm. This allows us time to collect the children from Nursery, Reception, Years 1 & 2, register the children and provide them with a snack. Children in years 3 to 6 make their way to Happy Hedgehogs Childcare independently.
